幸福 is the best description of what really human beings want in life, not only materialistic ($, position, assets), but + health + family + love (from God, parents, children, spouse, friends, …)
English “Happiness” is a poor translation.
French “Bonheur ” (Happy Hour) also a bad translation.
Korean 행복 (\haengbok) is the same as Chinese 幸福 (\xingfu), but Japanese translate in English phonetic (ハピネス = Ha-ppi-ne-ss).
